Modernization Strategy

At O.W. Investors, a Mars Inc. subsidiary, I led a modernization initiative to move a core service stack onto more resilient infrastructure. Windows Server hosts were migrated into QEMU virtual machines, and .NET services were redeployed in Podman containers to improve manageability, portability, and fault tolerance.

I also designed an observability layer with Prometheus and Grafana so the team could measure service health throughout the migration instead of relying on guesswork. After cutover, I helped upskill the team on Red Hat Linux operations and the new deployment model.

Operational Impact

The program increased service availability from 99.7% to 99.95% over six months while also improving fault tolerance and day-to-day operational visibility. It stands out as a strong example of my ability to combine platform engineering, reliability practices, and change leadership in a production environment.

This project reinforces experience that hiring teams routinely value today: container operations, Linux platform ownership, observability, service migration planning, and measurable reliability improvements.
